Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and the party candidate for Huzurabad by-election Eatala Rajender for approaching the Election Commission, Ministers and TRS MLAs on Monday described the move as a conspiracy to defer the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme in the constituency for their own political gains.

SC Development Minister Koppula Eshwar said never in the history has the Election Commission deferred implementation of an ongoing welfare scheme or programme. “This exposes the double standards of BJP’s commitment towards welfare and development of Dalits. To top it all, Sanjay sought to blame Chief Minister K Chandrshekhar Rao for the EC decision which clearly exposes the saffron party’s conspiracy,” he said.

TRS MLA Balka Suman said BJP was unable to digest the popularity of Dalit Bandhu and the way it was being implemented by the TRS government. Chandrashekhar Rao had announced the scheme in the State Assembly when Eatala Rajender was a Minister, he pointed out.

Achampet MLA and whip Guvvala Balraju said already 10,000 families in Huzurabad constituency had received funds under Dalit Bandhu scheme. “This is an i-Dalit plot by BJP and it will learn its lessons the hard way in Huzurabad by-polls,” said Balaraju.

Meanwhile, effigies of Rajender were burnt in Huzurabad and slogans raised against him.
