Hyderabad: The TRS on Saturday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking action against BJP and its candidate Eatala Rajender for violating the model code of conduct and indulging in poll campaign during the silent period of polling against the ECI guidelines.
The TRS also lodged complaint against two vernacular news channels for broadcasting Rajender’s statements live in violation of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee guidelines.
In the complaint lodged via email, TRS general secretary S Bharat Kumar said the BJP candidate address a press meet at polling booth number 262 at Channa Badi in Kamalapur mandal. He stated that Rajender and his wife Jamuna tried to influence the voters by addressing the press meet at the polling station.
He stated that Eatala Rajender had become a habitual offender in violating the EC guildeines on several occasions. He urged the EC to restrict the movement of Rajender to his residence untill the polling concludes and also advise him against speaking to any media.
