Hyderabad: TRS leaders launched a scathing attack against the Congress for releasing a charge-sheet against the State government. They pointed out that Telangana was formed on June 2 and September 17 cannot be celebrated officially just as there cannot be two Independence Days in a country.
Speaking to mediapersons at TRS headquarters here on Saturday, TRS MLA and Public Undertakings Committee chairman A Jeevan Reddy lashed out at Revanth Reddy, terming him as a puppet controlled by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. He described the ‘People’s Charge-sheet’ released by the Congress as a fake charge-sheet of the Opposition leaders and pointed out that Congress was pioneer in operating belt shops. He stated that liquor sales were higher in Congress and BJP-ruled States than in Telangana.
“The real face of Revanth Reddy was exposed when he called his party’s senior leader Shashi Tharoor a donkey for praising Telangana government. Telangana is among the fastest developing States in the country,” he added.
Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy said people who attended the Congress meeting in Gajwel were criticising Revanth Reddy for spreading false propaganda. He pointed out that the Chief Minister was responsible for bringing rail connectivity to Gajwel. Due to the Chief Minister’s proactive initiatives and development of villages, people who had left their native places, were returning home. Congress leaders, who have been away from power for long, are speaking against the Chief Minister out of frustration, he added.
Telangana State Forest Development Corporation chairman Vanteru Pratap Reddy rubbished the claims of Telangana Congress leaders that two lakh people attended the Congress meeting at Gajwel and questioned how two lakh people can fit into just eight acres of the meeting venue. He dared Revanth Reddy to prove that two lakh people attended the meeting or resign from the TPCC president’s post. “If he can prove that two lakh people attended the meeting, I will leave politics forever,” he said.
