Hyderabad: The ruling TRS has suspended Vanama Raghavendra Rao alias Raghava, son of Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwara Rao, from the party with immediate effect.
Following directions from TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the party general secretary and MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and the party Khammam in-charge Nookala Naresh Reddy issued orders in this regard.
Raghava has been named as A2 (accused number 2) for abetment to suicide in connection with the suicide of a businessman’s family of four in Kothagudem on last Sunday. The victim M Naga Ramakrishna along with his wife Srilakshmi, daughters Sahitya and Sahiti, committed suicide by setting himself and his family on fire by leaking the LPG cylinder.
In a suicide note and later through a selfie video which surfaced on Thursday, Naga Ramakrishna alleged that Raghavendra Rao had indirectly demanded sexual favours from his wife, in exchange for helping him resolve a property dispute within his own family. The police had also named Ramakrishna’s mother and sister in the FIR, based on the suicide note.
