Karimnagar: BJP national vice-president DK Aruna on Tuesday alleged that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi was trying to win the Dubbak by-election by spreading lies and blackmailing the voters.

Interacting with mediapersons after meeting with the agitating BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar here, Aruna said: “TRS leaders are threatening the votes saying they will not get Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, Aasara pensions and other government benefits if the TRS candidate is not elected in the by-poll.”

While adjacent Assembly constituencies Siddipet and Gajwel had developed on all fronts, Dubbak was neglected, she alleged, and claimed that people of Dubbak had decided to defeat the ruling party candidate in by-poll.

“Unable to digest the fact that they would lose the seat held by them, TRS leaders are leaving no stone unturned and resorting to illegal searching in houses of BJP candidate’s relatives. Where was the need to carry out a search in BJP candidate M Raghunandan Rao’s in-law’s house in Siddipet when the election is scheduled for November 3?” she questioned.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was behind the entire drama being played by Finance Minister T Harish Rao in Dubbak, Aruna alleged.

On the arrest of Sanjay Kumar by Siddipet police, Aruna wanted the suspension of Siddipet Commissioner of Police, Joel Devis and action against other police officials involved in the incident.
