Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar expressed confidence that Telangana Rashtra Samithi would capture Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on its own without the support of other political parties as well as ex-officio members.
Expressing confidence about winning more than 100 seats, the Minister hoped that both Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts would be captured by the TRS.
Kamalakar was speaking after laying foundation stone for development of parks in 17 and 39th divisions here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister termed Hyderabad as heart for Telangana and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was developing Hyderabad as a role model to the nation.
Stating Hyderabad was developed on all fronts after Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, the Minister said this resulted in a number of multinational companies setting up shop in the State capital in the last six years.
The BJP tried to get more seats in GHMC elections by provoking youths in the name of religion. However, Hyderabad people had supported the ruling party, he added.
Greater Hyderabad election was a classic example of the six-year rule of the TRS government. Welfare schemes introduced by the State government would help in the victory of TRS candidates, he said.
