Hyderabad: TRS working president and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao said the State government was focusing on promoting dispersed growth across Hyderabad and has specifically brought in the Growth in Dispersion (GRID) policy for the purpose. He said more amenities were being created to cater to the growing needs of people who are migrating to Hyderabad for better education, health and employment opportunities.
Speaking to mediapersons at the ‘Meet the Press’ event organised by Press Club of Hyderabad on Thursday, the Minister said the State government brought the TS-iPASS industrial policy and also worked hard to attract investments worth Rs 2 lakh crore to the State over the last six years. He stated that Hyderabad was home for top five most valued technology companies in the world. Except for Microsoft in 2000, he pointed out that all other four companies – Google, Apple, Amazon and Facebook – established their second largest campuses in Hyderabad after the State formation.
“Many companies are setting up their offices only due to the conducive atmosphere, law and order maintenance, economic stability, availability of talent pool and infrastructure among others. The State government also made conscious efforts to promote innovation and now Hyderabad has the highest number of incubators and co-working spaces in the country. Only Hyderabad has an entrepreneur hub exclusively for women,” he added.
Further, Rama Rao said the State government was seriously promoting dispersed growth and introduced the GRID policy to encourage new companies to establish their offices in other parts of the city. He said the IT growth was being promoted beyond Madhapur and Kondapur to decongest the area. “We are developing five IT parks in Uppal and one at Kompally, while two electronic manufacturing clusters are being developed at Maheshwaram and Ravirayala around the city,” he said.
The Minister said Hyderabad was also moving forward in the life sciences sector. He said the city had become the vaccine manufacturing capital of the world and the position was getting consolidating further under leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. More investments are coming to the State due to the government’s progressive policies, political stability and also law and order, he said.
