Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao on Thursday said the State government will launch the citizens’ Health Profile project in Mulugu and Rajanna Sircilla district soon as a pilot project.

The Ministers discussed various measures to be taken for the implementation of the pilot project.

Rama Rao said the details pertaining to residents’ health in Mulugu and Rajanna Sircilla will be collected by health department officials from the doorsteps of the people. Focus will be on collecting BP, sugar, urine and other blood tests at the field level, he said. In case additional details are required in specific cases, then such persons will be taken to the local Primary Health Care Centres or Telangana Diagnostic Centres for further tests, he explained.

Once the health data of citizens in the State was available, it would facilitate effective implementation of welfare programmes taken up by different departments, he said. “By analysing the health profile of citizens, we can identify district-specific seasonal and other diseases and initiate health measures accordingly,” Rama Rao said, and instructed the officials to study the health profile exercise taken up in Estonia.
