Suryapet: Barring vehicles transporting essential and other goods, police stopped entry of all other vehicles into Telangana State from 10 am on Wednesday at the State border at Ramapuram Crossroad, Wadapally and Nagarjuna Sagar in erstwhile Nalgonda district.
With the 10-day State-wide lockdown coming into effect at 10 am, police did not allow vehicles from Andhra Pradesh to enter Telangana at all these entry points. In some places, people picked up arguments with the police stating that they were at the entry points only a few minutes after the lockdown schedule of 10 am and that it takes four hours for them to reach the State borders from their native places in AP.
They also pointed out that there were restrictions in their State from 12 noon to 6 am. With the police firm on not allowing entry, many of them had to return to their native places.
A police officer supervising the situation at Ramapuram Crossroad said barring good vehicles and those who have valid permission, others would not be allowed into Telangana from 10 am to 6 am as per GO No. 102.
