Mulugu: We are taking all measures to prevent the Maoists from entering Telangana from neighbouring States mainly from Chattishgarh, Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahender Reddy reiterated.

During a visit to Mulugu on Wednesday, he inaugurated the District Police Training Centre and Battle obstacle assault course (BOAC) track at Jakaram village. He also inaugurated the police headquarters office at Mulugu and later distributed blankets to the Gothi Koya tribes on the occasion.


The DGP said that they were keeping a close eye on the developments related to the Maoist activities in the State and making strategies to counter them. “We are winning the hearts of the people with several activities and also getting information of the Maoists from them,” he said and added that they were providing all facilities to the border districts of the State so as to curb the Maoist activities.

“We are moving forward with the cooperation of the people with a view to ensuring that there would no reoccurrence of the Maoist problem in the future. In order to see that the youth in the border districts of Telangana are not attracted towards Maoism, we are taking measures to resolve their issues, improving facilities and other welfare and development activities with the support of the government machinery,” he said and added that the Mulugu police led by SP Sangram Singh G Patil is also taking all steps to check the Maoist activities with the cooperation of the local people.  The DGP has appreciated SP Sangram Singh for organizing the sports and games meet for the tribal youth in the district.  Additional DG (Greyhounds) K Srinivas Reddy, North Zone IG Y Nagi Reddy, SIB IG Prabhakar Rao,  District Collector S Krishna Aditya, Additional Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Mulugu ASP P Sai Chaitanya, Eturunagaram ASP Gaush Alam, OSD Shobhan Kumar, Additional SP Ch Kumaraswamy, Bhupalpally DSP Sampath Rao, Kataram DSP Bonala Kishan, and other officials of Bhupalapally and  Mulugu districts participated in the programme.
