TSCS organises blood donation camp for Thalassemmia children
A total of 101 individuals, including the staff and senior management of Café Niloufer, participated in the blood donation camp
Hyderabad: A blood donation camp to ensure regular blood transfusion services are available for children suffering from Thalassemia, who are the care of Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS), was organised by the Society, in collaboration with Café Niloufer, on Thursday.
A total of 101 individuals, including the staff and senior management of Café Niloufer, participated in the blood donation camp. Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Anumula, owner, Niloufer Café, thanked the Society for being at the forefront in conducting mega blood donation camps frequently in Hyderabad for children and for talking about Thalassemia and spreading awareness about the genetic ailment.
On the occasion, TSCS president Dr. Chandrakant Agarwal acknowledged that due to children’s medical condition, the Society is always in the need of donated blood. “There is always a significant demand for blood donors to come forward for transfusion of blood to Thalassemia patients. The collected blood will be utilised for patients who need blood transfusion at regular intervals. We continue to advocate for a Government Order for mandatory antenatal test — HbA2 for every pregnant woman to help prevent the birth of Thalassemia Major Children.”
