TSDCA raids unlicensed godown in Uppal, seizes illegal drugs worth Rs 6.7 lakh

The unlicensed warehouse was illegally used by Addanki Venkata Suresh Babu to store medicines without a valid drug license. During the raid, DCA officers discovered a large stockpile of unauthorized medicines, including six types of expired drugs, abortion kits, pain relievers, and antihistamines.

Hyderabad: The drug inspectors of Telangana State Drugs Control Administration (TSDCA) conducted a raid on an unlicensed godown at Uppal Khalsa, Uppal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district and seized illegally stocked drugs worth Rs 6.7 lakh.

The unlicensed godown was being illegally stocked with medicine by Addanki Venkata Suresh Babu, without a valid drug licence.


During the raid, DCA officers detected the unauthorized stocking of a large quantity of medicines, including six varieties of expired drugs, abortion kits, analgesics, and antihistaminic drugs.

Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders. Wholesalers and dealers who supply medicines to individuals stocking and selling drugs without a drug licence are also punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. Stringent action will be taken against such wholesalers and dealers, DG, TSDCA, V B Kamalasan Reddy said.

Public can report suspected manufacturing activity related to drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances through Telangana toll-free 1800-599-6969 between 10.30 am to 5 pm.
