Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TSSPDCL) has made all necessary arrangements for providing uninterrupted and reliable power supply for safe passage and immersion of Ganesh idols at immersion locations and lakes in Hyderabad, its Chairman and Managing Director G Raghuma Reddy.
With a view to meet the additional power demands at immersion locations, a total of 20 500 KVA, 29 315 KVA, and five 160 KVA distribution transformers and 35 KM LT cables have been set up. Moreover, the maintenance works such as restringing of loose spans, arranging PVC pipes to iron poles, transformers earthing, covering fuse boxes with PVC sheets and removal of road crossings works have also taken up.
Electricity control rooms have been set up at Hussainsagar, Sardar Mahal, Basheerbagh, Gandhi Nagar, Saroornagar and at other prominent places in the city. TSSPDCL Director (Operations) J. Srinivas Reddy was designated as the overall in-charge to monitor power supply during the immersion.
Suitable instructions were issued to the superintending engineers to visit Ganesh pandals and immersion locations and patrolling of various routes of idol procession to inspect various works such as tree cutting, restringing of loose spans, breakers and road crossing in their jurisdiction.
The CMD has requested all the Ganesh pandal organisers and general public to follow the safety precautions to avoid untoward incidents.
