Hyderabad: When someone asks me, “Hey! Doing anything special this Diwali?” I reply with, “Nothing else but sweets, diyas, lights, and family.”
We Indians must be proud of appreciating the fact that we don’t need a reason for outings when we have festivals like Diwali to enjoy. But, in a situation where the world is fighting the now-well-known coronavirus, celebrations are a big question mark on our safety.
So, what do we do? Remaining latched up in our houses in the literal sense feels like a bird in a locked cage. The lockdown has led to people undergoing stress and bad health.
To fight this stress and have a memorable time, all you can do is make sure everyone including you is safe and the festival is not ruined as well. Celebrate a musical Diwali, spend time with your family, light up and decorate your house, cook a special recipe to busy yourself and also delight your taste buds, video-call a friend or a family member, there is no end to the list of what can be done to make this festival an enriching and a prosperous one.
To find happiness and prosperity at times like now, we must harden our hearts and look for happiness ourselves; rightly as an old man once said, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times. If only one remembers to turn on the light.”
