HYDERABAD: Turncoat MLA Arekapudi Gandhi’s assurance to organise former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao’s birth and death anniversary programmes under the aegis of the State government and ensure the upkeep of NTR Ghat has evoked strong criticism from different sections.
The Serilingampally MLA condemned the poor upkeep of NTR Ghat in the city. On the 29th death anniversary of the former Chief Minister on Saturday, the MLA said on X: “Anna Garu (NT Rama Rao) family members and his fans expressed displeasure over the poor maintenance of NTR Ghat. I also condemn the poor upkeep by HMDA officials… I will personally take up the issue with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. This apart, I will also take up the responsibility of organizing NT Rama Rao’s birth and death anniversary programmes under the aegis of State government…” he posted.
However, the MLA’s assurance evoked strong criticism from different sections on social media, with a few people making some recommendations to the MLA. TrendCharan, an X user said “Do not impose taxes on people. If you want spend money, do it through your personal funds…”
“In a similar way, I request inspection of the government schools, hospitals under your constituency, so all will stay alert…” said Blamer, another X user.
Satya, another X user asked: “When AP Minister Nara Lokesh wants to do, why you want to request?”
Sri Gurubhyomnamah said:“Sir, also please take up the responsibility of the families affected due to HYDRAA. In my opinion, it is not necessary to take up such responsibility for an annual event and for those arriving at NTR Ghat once in a year. A week before, NTR Ghat can be inspected and arrangements can be made…”
