Sangareddy: Telangana Union of Working Journalists leaders urged journalists from across the erstwhile Medak district to participate in a “Maha Dharna” at the Information and Public Relations Department office at Masab Tank in Hyderabad on December 3.
In a press statement on Monday, TUWJ leaders said the government had failed to issue new accreditation cards by not constituting the accreditation committees. They said I&PR Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy had not responded to issues concerning journalists, despite several representations seeking a resolution. The leaders also said the government had not acted on the demand for allotment of house sites and had denied health cards to journalists. They appealed to journalists from the district to join the protest in large numbers to register their opposition to what they termed the government’s indifference to their long-pending issues.
