Teacher unions in Telangana have announced a series of protests from August 7, demanding the announcement of the PRC, more teaching staff, timely transfers and improvements in the school education sector. The agitation will culminate in a State-level Maha Dharna on August 29.

Is this a democracy, or have we entered an era of dictatorship and sanctions?” he questioned, sharing videos of the police march in Mahabubnagar on Thursday via social media.

The union leaders said as the SPDCL management had responded positively to their demands, the union had decided to postpone the protest.
