Twelfth international Yoga Day celebrated in Mancherial
The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated across Mancherial district with enthusiastic participation. Yoga demonstrations, asana formations and awareness programmes were organised at multiple locations, while Collector Kumar Deepak and several prominent personalities joined the celebrations

Mancherial: The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with much gaiety across the district on Sunday.
In Mancherial town, Yoga Day was observed on the premises of Mythri Yoga and Nature Cure Centre (MYNCC). Local corporator Sravanthi was the chief guest, while Chamber of Commerce Mancherial unit president Gunda Sudhakar also graced the occasion. Sravanthi opined that yoga helps practitioners stay physically and mentally healthy. She advised the public to practise yoga to gain a wide range of health benefits.
Sudhakar opined that one could prevent many diseases by practising yoga regularly and correctly. He stated that yoga, invented by Sage Patanjali, was a boon to humankind. He said that it was now being adopted by several countries. He noted that harmony between the body, mind and soul could be fostered with the help of yoga. He was all praise for Dr Sukumar and Dr P Sameera, founders of MYNCC, for dedicating their lives to building a healthy society.
Later, practitioners presented formations using difficult postures, enthralling the audience. Formations of asanas by 12-year-old Namani Venkata Adwika, a group of women from Reddy Colony and a team of yoga instructors were among the special attractions of the event. Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Thrinath Rao, anaesthesiologist Dr BSN Murthy and scores of fitness enthusiasts took part in the celebrations.
Similar colourful celebrations were organised by various spiritual organisations in different parts of the town and in Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Luxettipet, Kyathanpalli and Chennur. Collector Kumar Deepak took part in the celebrations conducted at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Naspur.
