Two arrested on charges of extortion in Nagarkurnool
On Tuesday, V Shanker and V Kumar,both the accused, called up the victim over phone and demanded Rs 10 lakh from him. They also threatened to kill his wife and children if he failed to pay the money
Nagarkurnool: Two persons were arrested by police in Veldanda on Wednesday for allegedly demanding Rs 10 lakh from a businessman by threatening him over phone. According to local police, C Dhanunjaya is an owner of a provision store and also conducts cement business.
On Tuesday, V Shanker and V Kumar, both hailing from Rachur tanda of Veldana mandal, called up Dhanunjaya over phone and demanded Rs 10 lakh from him. They also threatened to kill his wife and children if he failed to pay the money.
Immediately, the victim approached Veldanda police. After tracing the location of the accused, the police arrested the duo on Wednesday. Based on a complaint lodged by Dhanunjaya, a case has been registered and the investigation is on.
