Two arrested with 70 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 35 lakh in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Task Force (West) team along with SR Nagar Police arrested two persons and seized 70 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 35 lakh on Wednesday.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Maniel Dalabhera (30), a farmer from Gajapati district of Odisha, and Ismail Raita (48), a worker at an industrial unit in Medchal.
According to the police, Maniel allegedly cultivated marijuana on agricultural land in his native place and had involved his relatives in the illegal activity. Ismail, who moved to Hyderabad for employment, allegedly agreed to sell the contraband in the city after being approached by Maniel.
Police said Ismail identified buyers in the city, including Dhoolpet and Mangalhat, and had been supplying marijuana to customers for some time and making easy money.
Based on information, the Task Force nabbed the duo and seized the contraband before it could be distributed further.
