Two auto drivers held for cheating woman in Hyderabad

Hyderabad police arrested two auto rickshaw drivers, Syed Waseemuddin and Mohd Azam Ali, for cheating elderly women by replacing their cash with fake currency after offering free rides. They were involved in cases at Mangalhath and Asifnagar, police said

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police arrested two persons who allegedly took away Rs 20,000 from a woman after diverting her attention.

The arrested are Syed Waseemuddin (34) and Mohd Azam Ali (34), both auto rickshaw drivers.


According to the police, the two suspects offered free rides to elderly women in their auto rickshaw and, on the pretext of helping them, replaced the genuine currency carried by the women with fake currency notes after diverting their attention.

Both of them were involved in two cases at Mangalhath and Asifnagar, said Ande Srinivas, Additional DCP, Task Force.
