Topping the list is Chhava, an Indian historical action drama based on the life of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji and the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. Released in theatres on February 14, 2025, the film went on to collect nearly Rs. 600 crore in just 50 days. With strong performances from Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna, Chhava received high praise from both critics and audience, becoming one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year.
On the other hand, Court: State vs A Nobody is a Telugu-language legal drama that surprised everyone with its powerful storytelling and gripping courtroom scenes. Made on a modest budget of Rs. 8 crore, the film crossed Rs. 42.30 crore in collections within just two weeks. Despite being a small film, it left a mark with the audience and earned widespread acclaim.
