Hyderabad: Two cases were registered by the Punjagutta police against a doctor working at an eyecare hospital in the city after two women lost their vision reportedly after surgeries.

In the first case, K Kalavathi (65) of Domalguda had made a complaint saying she was admitted to the hospital at Punjagutta where a surgery performed on her left eye resulted in loss of sight.


Another woman, D Padma (72) alleged that she went for a surgery on the left eye and she lost complete vision. The complainant told the police that last month end she had visited the hospital at Himayatnagar where doctors performed a surgery for right and left eye. However, when she got pain in left eye and again approached the doctors at Himayatnagar, she was directed to Punjagutta hospital where the surgery was performed again resulting in loss of vision.

The police booked cases under Section 338 of IPC and took up investigation.
