Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, two children died and their father was grievously injured after a speeding tractor rammed into their motorcycle near Thammaloniguda Gate in Yacharam on Thursday morning.
The victims, Abhiram (9) and Ram (5) from Mudwin village of Kadthal in Ranga Reddy district, were travelling on the motorcycle ridden by their father, Swami, when the accident occurred.
Police said that as the bike reached Thammaloniguda Gate, the tractor driver, who was driving recklessly, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the motorcycle ahead.
Abhiram and Ram sustained severe bleeding injuries and died on the spot, while their father, who was also injured, was shifted to hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.
Alleging negligence by the tractor driver, relatives and villagers staged a protest by sitting on the road and demanded stringent action.
The Yacharam Police reached the spot and pacified the protesters, assuring a thorough investigation and strict action against the offender.
