Two drown in Manjira river after relative’s funeral in Medak
A tragic incident unfolded in Perur village, Medak, where two villagers drowned in the Manjira river after attending funeral rites. A teenager slipped into the water while bathing, and a fellow villager who tried to save him also drowned.

Medak: Two persons drowned in the Manjira river while taking a bath after performing the funeral of a close relative at Perur village in Medak mandal on Tuesday.
According to locals, a woman, Chintakindi Anjamma, passed away in the village on Tuesday morning. Villagers gathered to conduct the funeral rites.
After the cremation, a youth, Chintakindi Krishna (16), accidentally drowned while bathing in the river. In an attempt to rescue him, another villager, Chintakindi Beeraiah (38), jumped into the water but he also drowned.
The locals managed to retrieve the bodies by evening. Police have registered a case, and the bodies were shifted to the government hospital in Medak for postmortem.
