Two electrocuted in Hyderabad amid heavy rains
Two persons were electrocuted in Hyderabad’s Bandlaguda area after coming into contact with snapped live wires during heavy rains. The victims, identified as Jaffer and Abu of Chandrayangutta, died on the spot. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation

Hyderabad: Heavy rains in the city on Tuesday claimed two lives after they were electrocuted in Bandlaguda, Old City, when they came into contact with live power lines that had fallen on a main road.
The victims were identified as Jaffer and Abu, residents of Chandrayangutta.
According to police, the incident occurred when the duo stepped out of an auto-rickshaw and unknowingly walked onto the road where electric wires had snapped due to the heavy rains.
The victims reportedly failed to notice the live wires amid poor visibility and waterlogging. They suffered severe electric shocks and collapsed on the spot. Local residents rushed to their rescue and alerted authorities, but both succumbed to injuries.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident.
Officials from Electricity Department also visited the scene and are probing the incident.
