Two from Chhattisgarh killed as van rams stationary container in Peddapalli
Two men from Chhattisgarh, a driver and a cleaner, were killed instantly when their van carrying green peas rammed into a stationary container at NTPC Colony in Ramagundam late Tuesday night. Police said the container driver had failed to place warning signboards after its tyre burst, leading to the fatal accident.
Peddapalli: A driver and cleaner were killed on the spot when a van in which they were travelling collided against a stationary container at NTPC Colony in Ramagundam on Tuesday midnight.
Ramagundam Inspector Y Krishna Kumar said that Manohar (25), the driver of the van and Rauki Suryavashmi (25), the cleaner both belonging to Chhattisgarh received serious injuries after the vehicle rammed into the container parked on a roadside. They died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
Manohar was transporting green peas by the van. The container was parked on the road after its tyre busted. However, the driver of the container reportedly did not put up sign boards cautioning motorists, which resulted in the mishap.
Manohar’s father lodged a complaint with police. A case has been registered against Pushpendra Singh, the driver of the container from Madhya Pradesh. Investigations have been taken up.
