Medak: Pilgrimage to Edupayala turned tragic as two devotees from Hyderabad drowned in river Manjeera at Pothamsettipally in Medak district.
They were Krishna (20) and Shama (12), residents of Indira Nagar in Hyderabad. According to the police, the duo along with their friends arrived at Sri Vanadurga Bhavani Temple at to offer prayers to the presiding deity.
During their visit, they ventured into the river to swim. While two of them drowned, the locals rescued two of their friends. The bodies were retrieved from the water and shifted to the government hospital in Medak for postmortem.
