Two get 3-year jail term for peddling ganja in Asifabad
Principal and Sessions judge MV Ramesh, pronounced the verdict, awarding the term against Mavale Govind and Dondram, both from Vanjariguda village in Lingapur mandal after finding them guilty in peddling ganja.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A court in Asifabad on Tuesday sentenced two persons to three years of imprisonment and imposed fines of Rs.25,000 each for peddling ganja three years ago.
Principal and Sessions judge MV Ramesh, pronounced the verdict, awarding the term against Mavale Govind and Dondram, both from Vanjariguda village in Lingapur mandal after finding them guilty in peddling ganja. The court examined evidence and cross-questioned eye witnesses produced by public prosecutor Jaganmohan Rao. The two were booked for selling ganja on July 28, 2021. They were also found to be cultivating ganja in their farms.
Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas Rao commended Asifabad DSP A Karunakar, Jainoor Inspector Ramesh, Lingapur Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna and court duty officer Ram Singh for securing the conviction.
