Two held for stealing bikes in Hyderabad
Police seized 10 sports bikes, all together worth Rs 15 lakh from the accused
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Task Force along with the Meerpet police nabbed two youngsters on charges of stealing two-wheelers, and seized 10 sports bikes, all together worth Rs 15 lakh from them here on Friday.
They were involved in cases in Meerpet, LB Nagar, Medipally and Saroornagar, officials said.
The arrested persons were Uttam Kumar (20), a student and Sandeep Kumar (20), a food delivery executive, both friends and residents of Saroornagar.
According to the police, both were fascinated by bike races but since they could not afford costly bikes, decided to steal them instead.
“They stole sports bikes parked in crowded places and in front of houses. They thus stole 10 bikes in the Rachakonda Police limits,” an official said, adding that following a tip-off, the police began tracking their movements and caught them.
