Mancherial: Two persons including a nine-year-old girl were killed, while a couple sustained injuries when a car, in which they were travelling, got overturned on NH 363 on the outskirts of Bellampalli town on Friday midnight.
Bellampalli Rural Inspector Afzaluddin said that the girl Parupelli Priya Meghana from Kannala basti in the town was killed on the spot, while her grandmother Kalyani (65) breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mancherial in the morning on Saturday.
Meghana and Kalyani had serious injuries, while father Rajesh and mother Alekhya received minor injuries when the car turned turtle at a curve on the highway at a power substation at 12.30 pm. They were returning to Bellampalli after attending a function at Bhupalpally town at the time of the mishap.
Based on a complaint received from Alekhya, a case was registered against Gogarla Kiran, the driver of the car from Bellampalli. Investigations were taken up.
