Two including teenager killed as jeep rams into culvert in Adilabad

The deceased were identified as Ramnaresh Shukla (41) belonging to Madhya Pradesh and as Vanjare Rahul (16) of Chhattisgarh. They are supposed to be daily earners and were migrating to Hyderabad in search of livelihood.

The deceased were identified as Ramnaresh Shukla (41) belonging to Madhya Pradesh and as Vanjare Rahul (16) of Chhattisgarh. They are supposed to be daily earners and were migrating to Hyderabad in search of livelihood.

Adilabad: Two persons including a teenaged boy were killed on the spot and 13 others sustained injuries when a jeep in which they were travelling rammed into a culvert on Hyderabad-Nagpur national highway on the outskirts of Islamnagar at Echoda mandal centre on Saturday early morning. One of the injured is serious.

Echoda Inspector K Ravinder said that the deceased were identified as Ramnaresh Shukla (41) belonging to Madhya Pradesh and as Vanjare Rahul (16) of Chhattisgarh. The injured were also from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh states. They are supposed to be daily earners and were migrating to Hyderabad in search of livelihood.

Ramnaresh and Rahul received fatal injuries when the jeep dashed against the culvert, resulting in instantaneous death for the two and injuries to 13 persons including some women.

The injured were shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad. Medical condition of the one of the injured who was female was critical.

The jeep was heading to Hyderabad from Nagpur at the time of the mishap. Rash and over speeding is suspected to be the cause of the accident. Some locals who heard the screams of the victims alerted police, who in turn rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to RIMS.

Based on a complaint received from an injured person, a case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
