Hyderabad: Two persons, including a security guard of an ATM centre of a private bank at Patel Kunta park in Kukatpally, were injured when unidentified persons opened fire at them here on Thursday afternoon.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.

Sources said the incident occurred when cash was being dispensed in the ATM centre by the staff. The Kukatpally police are investigating if cash is missing. They suspect a robbery gang to be behind the incident and are verifying footage from CCTV cameras in the surroundings.

A CLUES team had visited the spot and collected samples. Officials said the statements of the injured would be recorded soon to gather more details on the incident.
