Mahabubnagar: Two persons, including a woman, were killed when an old building collapsed near the Clock Tower here on Thursday afternoon. The structure came down while a tree was being removed next to the old market premises. The two daily wage workers were trapped under the debris, and considering the large heaps, officials believe they might have died on the spot, according to reports.
Soon after learning about the incident, the police and Fire Services Department reached the spot and began rescue operations. The house owner was said to have hired the two workers for carrying out some patch work in the 70-year-old building. However, while clearing the tree roots, the structure suddenly caved in, the reports said.
