Two killed, five injured in separate road accidents in Jangaon district

Two persons died and five others were injured in separate accidents in Jangaon district. One car plunged into a reservoir at Chilpur, while another rammed into a tree on Kundaram Road after a tyre burst

Jangaon: Two persons died and five others were injured in separate accidents in the district on Thursday.

In one incident at Desai thanda in Chilpur mandal, a car overturned and plunged into the Ghanpur reservoir. Bhukya Pawan, who was driving the car, drowned, while a youth, Dharawat Charan, sustained injuries. Charan managed to escape by breaking open the car door and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. On receiving information from locals, police and firefighters rushed to the reservoir and retrieved the car along with Pawan’s body.


In another incident, a 60-year-old woman, Bandi Laxmi, died when the car in which she was travelling rammed into a roadside tree after its tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The accident occurred on Kundaram Road under Lingala Ghanpur Police Station limits.

Four persons, Jenne Srikanth, Madhavi, Siddheshwari and Sravani, all belonging to a family from Jangaon town, were injured in the accident. They were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
