Adilabad: An elderly man and his four-year old granddaughter were killed and his daughter-in-law sustained serious injuries when a two-wheeler on which they were travelling collided with an oncoming TSRTC bus at Wankidi village in Neradigonda mandal on Saturday.

Neradigonda Sub-Inspector Bharat Suman said that the deceased were identified as Sable Bacchan Singh (50), a farmer from Gopalpet Thanda in Nirmal district and his granddaughter Sable Rithiki. His daughter-in-law Sable Chandrakla was injured in the incident.

Bacchan Singh received fatal injuries when the motorbike dashed against the bus at a curve on Hyderabad-Nagpur national highway at Wankidi, resulting in instantaneous death for him and grievous injuries to Srithika and Chandrakala. Srithika succumbed to injuries while being shifted to a hospital in Nirmal.

The bus was heading to Adilabad from Nirmal, while the farmer and his granddaughter and daughter-in-law were proceeding to Nirmal at the time of the mishap. Echoda Inspector Y Ramesh Babu rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to hospital.

Neradogonda police registered a case based on a complaint received by Tukaram, cousin brother of Chandrakala. Investigations were taken up.
