Two killed in road accident on NH-44 near Mahabubnagar’s Rajapur

Two people were killed and two others injured in a collision on NH-44 at Rajapur mandal, Mahabubnagar. The car from Hyderabad lost control and hit another vehicle. Police have registered a case, sent bodies for post-mortem, and investigation is ongoing.

Mahabubnagar: Two persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident on National Highway-44 at Rajapur mandal headquarters in Mahabubnagar district on Monday.

Police said the accident occurred when a car travelling from Hyderabad to Nandyal lost control and fell on another car heading towards Hyderabad, in the opposite lane. Locals attributed the crash to overspeeding.

The deceased were identified as Beeram Ranjith Kumar Reddy of Chikkepally village in Panagal mandal, and his relative Harika, who were travelling to Hyderabad. Both died on the spot. The injured who were travelling in the second car have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case and shifted the bodies for post-mortem. The investigation is on.
