Peddapalli: Internal bickering in the Peddapalli Congress once again came to the fore as two leaders attacked each other on the dais of a public meeting attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other ministers.
Besides the Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, D Sridhar Babu, Konda Surekha and Adluri Laxman Kumar participated in various developmental programmes and the distribution of Indiramma house pattas in Godavarikhani town on Sunday.
After laying the foundation stones for various development works, the leaders addressed a public meeting at the Junior College grounds.
After the ministers concluded their speeches and stepped down from the dais, two local leaders entered into an argument over the reported distribution of Indiramma house pattas. As the argument escalated, they came to blows.
Police personnel deployed at the meeting swung into action and brought the situation under control by escorting one of the leaders away from the spot.
Hailing from the same division, the two leaders share an old rivalry, which was once again exposed during the meeting.
