Two migrant workers killed by train while crossing tracks near Jammikunta

Two migrant labourers working at a cement brick unit in Jammikunta were fatally hit by a train on Tuesday night while crossing railway tracks. The victims, both 25, were from Madhya Pradesh. A case has been registered, and investigation is underway.

Karimnagar: Two migrant labourers died after being hit by a train near Jammikunta railway station on Tuesday night.

According to railway police, the victims, Dileep Kumar (25) from Chikili village in Madhya Pradesh and Akalesh Sriram Varkade (25), were crossing the railway track to attend nature’s call when the accident occurred. They were reportedly struck by an unidentified train and died on the spot.


The two had migrated to Jammikunta for work and were employed at a cement bricks manufacturing unit located on Madipalli road.

Police have registered a case and taken up investigation. After conducting postmortem, the bodies were handed over to their families.
