Two minors thrashed, dung stuffed in their mouths in Telangana

Mahabubabad: In a shocking incident, two innocent minor boys were tied with a rope, beaten up and dung stuffed in their mouth and smeared on their faces by two persons at a mango orchard on Kanatayapalem road under Thorrur police station on Thursday evening, suspecting that the boys came to steal the mangoes.

This heinous act was also video graphed by the accused on a mobile phone and was widely circulated on social media platforms. With the video going viral, police took note of the offence, and arrested the accused in the night.

Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nandyala Koti Reddy said police had took suo motu notice of the incident and arrested two persons. “The accused were identified as Banothu Yaku of Bothala Thanda and Banothu Ramulu of Hatchu Thanda, hired to guard the orchard.

They were booked under sections 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) 504 (Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 75 Juvenile Justice Act (Punishment for cruelty to Child),” he said and added that the victims had gone to the mango orchard in search of their missing pet dog.

The victims belonged to Beda Budaga community of Sai Nagar in Thorroor town. Meanwhile, Founder President of Society for Public Welfare and Initiative (SPWI) Dr Suresh Devath appreciated the police for their prompt response and urged them to take steps to check atrocities against the children.
