Two more Covid cases in Suryapet gated community, total at 24

Suryapet: Another two persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the gated community venture where 22 cases were reported yesterday in Suryapet town. On Saturday, the medical staff collected swab samples from 100 persons in Yadadri township and two persons were tested positive for Covid-19 in the tests.
District Medical and Health Officer Karpuram Harshavardhan also visited the colony and enquired about the health condition of the persons who tested positive for Covid-19.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the people had no need to panic on the cases as the positivity rate declined to 1.83 percent by December, 2020 in the district. He reminded that the positivity rate was 16 percent in October and 10 percent in November.
He asked the people to follow Covid-19 norms- maintaining physical distance, wearing masks and washing hands frequently while attending marriages and other functions. The people should follow the measures until vaccinated, which would be taken up by the government soon, he added.
