Two persons arrested for smuggling ganja in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: The Special Task Force team of Excise and Prohibition Department on Sunday arrested two persons for allegedly smuggling ganja at Secunderabad. The sleuths seized 10 kilograms of ganja from them.
The arrested T Shankar and C Anil, both drivers along with Praveen Varma, who is absconding, had purchased the ganja from Aruku valley in Andhra Pradesh and smuggled to the city. On information the STF team caught them at Bowenpally.
“Praveen had hired the car and went to A.P where he purchased the weed. He came to the city and handed over the car to Anil and Shankar, asking them to shift the ganja to some place in Secunderabad,” said the officials.
The gang planned to sell the weed to software professionals and earn huge money, officials added. Efforts are on to nab Praveen Varma, who is absconding.
