Jagital: Two persons died and another sustained injuries in a road accident that took place near Vellulla of Metpally mandal on Friday.

The incident occurred when two motorbikes moving in opposite directions collided with each other at Yellamma temple in the outskirts of Vellulla. While Pothuganti Srinivas, 50, died on the spot, Daggula Swamy, 42, breathed his last while being shifted to hospital.


According to police, a resident of Bandalingapur, Srinivas along with his nephew Niwas went to Metpally and was returning to his village after work. Meanwhile, Swamy was moving towards Metpally.

While attempting to overtake a bike in front of him, Swamy rammed into the motorbike on which Srinivas and Niwas were traveling. Srinivas died on the spot. Niwas was shifted to the Nizamabad hospital.

A native of Vellulla, Swamy was staying in Metpally. He met with the accident while returning to Metpally after visiting his mother. Police have registered a case and shifted the bodies for postmortem.
