Two pilgrims from MP killed, 3 injured as car overturns in Nirmal
Two pilgrims, Vijay and Sumita, were killed and three others injured when their car overturned while avoiding a monkey at Burugupalli village near Nirmal
Nirmal: In a tragic incident, two pilgrims were killed on the spot, while three others from Madhya Pradesh sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling overturned when the driver tried to avoid hitting a monkey at Burugupalli village in Mamada mandal late on Saturday evening.
Police said Vijay, 57, a trader, and Sumita, 52, from Jabalpur, received serious injuries when the car turned turtle at a curve near Burugupalli, resulting in instantaneous death for the two.
Vijay’s relatives Nithin, Anitha, and Sudhir, the husband of Sumita, were injured. The injured persons were admitted to a hospital in Nirmal.
Their medical condition is learnt to be stable. Overspeeding is suspected to be the cause of the accident.
