Siddipet: In a tragic road accident, two constables were killed after an unidentified vehicle knocked down their bike on the Gajwel by-pass road at Jaligama early on Sunday.

They were identified as Parandamulu (43) and Pusa Venkateshwarlu (42). While Parandamulu, a 2004 batch constable, was discharging duties at Raipole police station, Venkateshwar, a 2007 batch constable, was working at Doulthabad police station. They were proceeding to ECIL to participate in a marathon when an unidentified vehicle hit their vehicle.

The duo died on the spot as they sustained severe injuries. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the government hospital in Gajwel for postmortem. Efforts were on to identify the vehicle.
