Two SCR RPF officers win President’s Police Medal
Two South Central Railway RPF officers, G Madhusudana Rao and K Rajagopala Reddy, have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for meritorious service on Independence Day 2025. Both officers have long, decorated careers in passenger safety and law enforcement.

Hyderabad: Two Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of South Central Railway (SCR) have been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal for outstanding and meritorious services on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day 2025.
The awardees are G Madhusudana Rao, Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF, Guntur, and K Rajagopala Reddy, Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF, Renigunta.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava congratulated the officers, calling it a proud moment for the RPF and the entire SCR zone, and lauded their dedication to passenger and property safety.
Madhusudana Rao, an IRPFS officer, joined the RPF as a Sub-Inspector in 1989 and rose through the ranks with a 36-year track record of exemplary service. He was earlier honoured with the Indian Police Medal (2016), DG/RPF Insignia (2014), GM’s Medal, five PCSC Awards, and 16 DRM Awards.
Rajagopala Reddy, a decorated officer with the Indian Police Medal (2012), has won multiple national awards for investigative excellence. He also served as a Police Advisor in UN Peacekeeping Missions in Kosovo and South Sudan, earning four UN Peacekeeping Medals.
