Two students drown in Andhra’s Parvatipuram Manyam dist

In Parvatipuram Manyam district, two nine-year-old government school students drowned in a lake at Lakkaguda while bathing. Police said they got stuck in the soil and have registered a case under BNSS Section 194 for death by drowning

Lakkaguda: Two government school students drowned in a lake here in Parvatipuram Manyam district, a police official said on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred around 4 pm on Monday when the duo, both aged nine years, went near the lake for a bath.


“Two students drowned after they entered the lake to bathe and got stuck in the soil,” Palakonda Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) G Rambabu said.

The DSP said that as schools are functioning only till afternoon due to the summer season, the boys had informed their parents that they were going out.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), death due to drowning.
