Two teenagers drown in irrigation tank in Bhongir

The victims were identified as K Madhav (18) aias Nani and Rohan(17), residents of Saidabad in Hyderabad

Yadadri-Bhongir: Two teenagers drowned in an irrigation tank locally known as Lakkaram Cheruvu at Choutuppal in Yadadri-Bhongir district on Sunday.

The victims were identified as K Madhav (18) aias Nani and Rohan(17), residents of Saidabad in Hyderabad. They came to Choutuppal on Sunday morning to meet their friends and went for a swim in the irrigation tank. Madhav and Rohan were friends.

According to the police, the two friends, who were not very good at swimming, drowned when they swam into the deep end of the tank.

People in the vicinity who heard the cries for help tried to save them, but in vain. Later, they fished out Madhav’s body from the irrigation tank.

On getting information, Choutuppal police rushed to the place and took up a search operation in the irrigation tank for Rohan and found his body after 20 minutes of searching.

The bodies were shifted to Area Hospital at Bhongir for autopsy. Choutuppal police filed a case and took up investigations.
