Hyderabad: The Alwal police on Wednesday caught two women on charges of burglary.
The arrested persons are U Jyothi (30) and U Roopa (36), both ragpickers and residents of Mangar Basthi in Tukaramgate and natives of Karnataka and Maharashtra. According to the police, the women used to identify locked houses in colonies in the daytime and returned in the night to break into them and steal valuables.
Recently, the duo stole Rs18.5 lakh from a house in Anjaiah Nagar in Alwal. With the help of surveillance camera footage, they were identified and arrested. Rs10 lakh was recovered from them.
