Sangareddy: Two persons died after harmful gas leaked at Saraca Laboratories Limited in Gaddapotharam in the early hours of Friday. The incident reportedly occurred following a gas leak in the Glaba Black unit, claiming the lives of Sudharshan Rao (27) and Balaji, both from Andhra Pradesh.
However, information was not available on whether any other workers were injured in the incident. Efforts were underway to stop the gas leak and prevent further damage.
Reacting to the incident, former Minister T Harish Rao expressed shock over the deaths of the two workers. He demanded action against the industry management for alleged safety violations and sought ex gratia payments of Rs 1 crore each to the families of the deceased.
Recalling the Sigachi blast, which claimed more than 54 lives in 2025, Rao accused the government of failing to fulfil its promise of paying Rs 1 crore in compensation to the families of the victims. He demanded that the government immediately pay the remaining compensation to the families of those killed in the Sigachi blast.
